About Us
Company Info
Aaron Bates and crew strive for perfection in the construction industry. From our customers to our subcontractors, and suppliers, we do all we can to build relationships that span the test of time. This
creates an environment where our customers, subcontractors, and crew members develop a level of trust and professionalism that creates a unique experience that is hard to find in this industry.
Keeping our crew size modest allows us to do a fair portion of your project in-house. Using subcontractors only on specific parts of the project allows us to control timing, price, and quality more effectively. Training and safety meetings are held regularly to ensure safe quality work is performed on your project.
Located in Port Orchard positions us to work on the Kitsap Peninsula from Bainbridge Island to West
Tacoma. As a general contractor we are able to accomplish all types of construction needs for our
customers. From new custom home builds, kitchen and bathroom remodels, insurance claims, water
damage, structural modifications, additions, to small upgrades, we can do it all. Large remodels, tricky
renovations, and ICF construction is where we shine. Check out our project gallery and contact us now to see what R&J Construction Services, LLC can do for you.

About the Owner
Aaron Bates
Aaron is a third-generation contractor. His love for construction started as a 10-year-old boy on job sites with his Dad and Grandpa where he was anxious to learn all he could. Shortly after High School Aaron worked for a company out of Merrimack, NH where he was able to travel parts of the country working on Mormon Temples. He learned the granite and tile industry from the multiple years of working with that company doing marble and granite cladding on the exterior of Reno NV, Baton Rouge LA, Omaha NE, and Tri-Cities WA temples.
From the Tri-Cities Aaron & Janna (newly married) moved back to Omaha, NE working for a company doing unique marble and granite work in the commercial industry. He worked on the interior of the First National Bank Tower of Omaha and other large-scale projects doing natural stone tile and wall cladding.
After Omaha Aaron moved back to the Tri-Cities, WA area to be closer to his in-laws and try his hand at self-employment. After a tough couple of years Aaron and Janna moved to Port Orchard, WA to work for a local granite countertop fabrication company. They have been there ever since.
Aaron went back out on his own early in 2008 (worst timing ever!) fabricating countertops and installing tile. Making it through the rough housing crisis, demand for his services started to grow. As work began to grow Aaron partnered with a couple of local business owners and opportunities took off. During this time of growth Aaron acquired R&J Construction Services from the previous owner after working together for many years. For Aaron, the tile and granite industry had become monotonous and was no longer challenging. He realized his interest in the whole construction process rather than just a few parts of the complex puzzle. In 2017 Aaron and Janna decided to leave the partnership behind and focus on being a general contractor. The challenges of each project, the opportunities to do more for our customers, the constant changes in scenery and tasks, have Aaron to build an excellent team. During this latest phase of growth, Aaron has developed a love for the ICF (insulated concrete form) construction process. R&J Construction is now one of the few companies in the PNW who specialize in this process and are constantly on the hunt for more opportunities to build with this product.
